This is Cheri Lynn Smith:
Cheri was 18 years old when she left her family home in Regina, Saskatchewan to follow a male she was in love with to Edmonton, Alberta on June 4th, 1990. Unfortunately, the male's influence eventually led to Cheri being sex trafficked in Victoria, British Columbia. Family and investigators believe Cheri's "boyfriend" used the "Loverboy" or boyfriend-method of recruiting and tricking Cheri into sex trafficking. Prior to the 9th grade, Cheri was heavily involved in her church, read the bible daily, played baseball and numerous instruments and attended Catholic school. Once she entered 9th grade Cheri began acting out, drinking, and partying. She met her trafficker at the "Buffalo Days" fair during her senior year of high school, and would begin being trafficked only 2 weeks later.
Tragically, Cheri's body was found dumped in the underbrush in the Munns Road area of Saanich, north of Thetis Lake, in British Columbia on September 9th, 1990. She was 6 months pregnant when she died and had been beaten to death. Her murder remains unsolved.
