This is Chanda Loar-Sanders:
Chanda was 42 years old when she was last seen leaving Atoka, Oklahoma en route to Galveston, Texas on June 1st, 2022. She planned to meet up with friends in Brownsville, Texas for a 2-week getaway in a city across the border from Mexico. A family member received a call from Chanda on June 26th stating that she was in jail. She had been arrested for causing a disturbance at a Chuck E. Cheese where she pulled a fire alarm "for help." She told police vehicles were following her and that people were trying to kill her and all she wanted to do was go home to Oklahoma. An officer took her to the bus station and purchased her a ride home but she never boarded the bus.
At 4:30pm that same day police received another call about a woman acting irate at a bus station, yelling at employees, and claiming people with guns were trying to kill her. Police arrived to find Chanda again and asked her to leave, at which point she said she would rather go to jail. She was arrested on trespassing charges and was reportedly transferred to Tropical Texas, a mental health treatment facility. Her arrest report does not reflect this transfer however, as Tropical Texas does not take people from in-custody on the weekends.
Chanda was active on social media following her arrest and made a post about traveling across the border to Mexico. She had other friends in the area, some of whom she had alleged romantic intentions with that did not pan out in her favor. She got into an argument with Josh Spinks, brother to one of her friends, after he allegedly rejected her advances. He claims to not know Chanda's whereabouts. Josh's sister, Ashley, told police that Chanda called her to tell her the Mexican cartel had put a hit out on Chanda and Josh. Some of Chanda's direct family members claim that she is alive but in hiding out of fear for her life.
The final phone call family received was from the Harligen, Texas area on July 12th, 2022. During this call Chanda told family members unknown people were going to kill her. While Chanda was known to struggle with chemical dependency, she was not known to have any enemies. She repeated her concerns about being in danger to multiple people who agreed that what she described sounded "crazy" but also felt like there "was truth to it." Police determined she was not intoxicated when she was arrested on June 25th. Chanda has not been seen or heard from since and has not cashed any of her Cheyenne Arapaho checks. She remains missing.
